Self Portrait Lino Cut

Creating my self portrait lino cut was a very new experience for me. It was a lot of fun to use the ink to print our blocks. This project made me focus on balance, positive and negative space and patterns. Through out the duration of the project.  I was challenged with the thought of actually printing the lino cut. As it turned out I was not very happy with my design on my face so if I were to do something similar again I would use a picture that my face was bigger in. As I feel I could have done more with it than I did. My inspiration through my patterns were my love for wild life. The one going horizontal represents thatched huts that you may find in the African Savannah. The other pattern represents my love for the beach as it kind of has the look of a palm tree.  Overall I learned a lot during this project which will help me in the future!
